Lower the temperature of sleeve bearing (21). Install the sleeve bearing in the clutch housing assembly. Install the seal ring in the clutch housing assembly.
Install the three reaction dowels in the clutch housing assembly.

Install two guide pins (22) in the inner impeller. Attach a hoist to clutch housing assembly (23). Place clutch housing assembly (23) in position on the torque converter. Ensure that the reaction dowels in clutch housing assembly (23) go through the clutch piston and go into the impeller.
Install the twelve bolts and the washers that hold the clutch housing assembly to the impeller. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 120 15 N m (90 11 lb ft).
Install the bolts and the washers that hold the clutch housing assembly to the rotating housing. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 50 7 N m (37 5 lb ft).

Heat ring carrier (24) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F). Install ring carrier (24) on carrier assembly (25). Install the pin that fastens the ring carrier to the carrier assembly.

Install the lower retaining ring on carrier assembly (25) .
Install two seal rings (26) on carrier assembly (25). Install carrier assembly (25) in the torque converter.

Install the plate and retaining ring (27) .

Use Tooling (A) to install the lip seal in bearing carrier (28). The lip of the seal should be facing the inside of the bearing carrier. The edge of the seal should make contact with the counterbore in the bearing carrier.

Install bearing (30) and wear ring (29) in the bearing carrier.

Install ring (32) in ring carrier (31). Install ring carrier (31) in bearing carrier (28) .

Use a press to install shaft (33) in bearing carrier (28). The shoulder on shaft (33) should make contact with ring carrier (31) .

Install O-ring seal (34) and O-ring seal (35) in the bearing carrier.

Install the shaft and the bearing carrier in the torque converter. Install the six bolts and the washers that attach the bearing carrier to the torque converter.

Install two O-ring seals (37) on the carrier assembly.
Install yoke (36), the retainer, and the bolt onto the end of the shaft. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 120 15 N m (90 11 lb ft).

Attach a hoist to torque converter cover (38). Place torque converter cover (38) in position on the torque converter. Install the eleven bolts and the washers that hold the cover in place.End By: Install the torque converter.
