END-JOINT 2C1315 - Caterpillar

Release the oil pressure in the main system before removal of any oil lines.
(1) Move the boom, bucket and stick to the position shown. Shut off the engine. (2) Open screws (1) to release the oil pressure from boom cylinders (2); remove tubes (3). (3) Weld a bracket (4) on the right side of each boom cylinder at the dimensions shown. Use .12" (3.1) fillet welds along two sides of each bracket. Make an extension of welds (B) with a gradual decrease in size. Grind the brackets and weld extensions at (A) to the dimensions shown. (4) Fasten plate (6) to bar (5) with bolts and washers; fasten tee (7) to plate (6) with a nut. Connect 2V8305 Tube (8) and 2V8304 Tube (9) to tee (7). Put the assembly in position at the dimension shown and tack weld bar (5) in place. Remove plate (6) and the tubes. Weld bar (5) with .25" (6.4) fillet welds, front and rear. Install plate (6) and the tubes, and install clips (10). (4) For Excavators with shovel attachment follow the same procedure as in step 4 above, except fasten 2V1067 Plate to the left cylinder hose flanges as shown with new bolts and lockwashers. Install the connector and nut to the plate and fasten 2V8381 Tube (8) to the connector. (5) Install valves (11) seals, bolts and lockwashers to the cylinders; install connectors (12) and seals to valves (11). Install two tubes (13) to connectors (12) and fasten them to brackets (4) with clips (14). Install two 2V8302 Tubes (15) to valves (11) and existing hoses. Install hoses (16) between tubes (13) and tubes (9) and (8). (6) Remove hose (17) and tube (18). Remove tube (19), if so equipped. Disconnect hoses (20) and (21). Remove 9J387 Pilot Valve (22) and post (23). Remove elbow (24), plug (25) and the seal, retainer (26), if so equipped, spring (27) and valve (28) from 9J8576 Boom Check Valve (29). Install new 9S6130 Plug and 2S4078 Seal in valve (29). (7) On machines that had tube (19), disconnect hose (30) at the bulkhead union. Install a new 7D978 Tee (31), 8M744 Nut (32) and 8M745 Reducer as shown. Connect hose (30) to tee (31) and connect a new 8K4870 Hose Assembly (33) between tee (31) and the elbow on boom speed control valve (34). (8) Remove five plugs from new 3G649 Valve Group (35). (9) Install connector (36), elbows (37), (38), (39), (40), (41) and seals to valve (35). (10) Install new post (42); use new bolts (43) and lockwashers. Install valve (35) to post (42). (11) Remove plug (44) from the valve control and install new 8J426 Plug (45), elbow (46) and the seals. (12) Connect hoses (20) and (21) to elbows (39) and (41). Connect new 2V8297 Tube (47) to elbow (37) and tee (48). Connect new 687086 Hose (49) to elbows (38) and (46). Connect hose (50) to elbow (40) and tee (7).
