At operating temperature, the engine cooling system is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the machine has stopped and the fill cap and radiator are cool enough to touch with the bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
Start by:a. remove alternator 1. Release the pressure in the cooling system by slowly loosening the fill cap on the radiator.2. Open drain valve (1), and drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container. The capacity of the cooling system is 31.42 liters (8.3 U.S. gal). 3. Remove four bolts (2) and remove bracket (3). 4. Loosen two bolts (4), move pulley (5) towards center of engine and remove belt (6). 5. Loosen two clamps (7).6. Loosen clamp (8) and remove hose (9). 7. Remove two bolts (4) and remove pulley (5). 8. Remove four bolts (10) and remove water pump (11). The following steps are for the installation of the water pump.9. Position the water pump with the two O-ring seals in place. Install four bolts (10) and tighten evenly to standard torque.10. Adjust water pump belt tension as necessary. See the Operation and Maintenance Manual.11. Fill the cooling system to the specified level.
