Information:

Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the brake system.
Escaping fluid under pressure, even a pinhole size leak, can penetrate body tissue, causing serious injury, and possible death. If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated immediately by a doctor familiar with this type of injury.Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak.

Hydraulic Oil Contamination
ISO Code Particle Size (Microns) Maximum Number of Particles Per 1 mL Sample
18 5 2500
15 15 320 Note: The concentration of the particles by size should be monitored over a series of samples. This information can be used to spot abnormal wear before a failure occurs. A spectrographic analysis of the samples can be used to identify the composition of the particles. The analysis of the oil sample may be used to identify the components that are failing.Introduction
The hydraulic oil in this system is HYDO advanced 10W. If the oil becomes contaminated, premature component failure could result. Contaminated oil can also contribute to overheating. Use the following procedure to sample the oil for the implement system.Required Tools (As Required)

Required Tools
Part Number Description
8T-9208 Probe Assembly
5P-6442 Hose Test Preparation (Warming the Hydraulic Oil)
Start the engine. Run the engine at High Idle.
Apply and hold Full BLADE Down command for 3 minutes to warm the hydraulic oil.
Cycle all implement functions upon warming the hydraulic oil then return the engine speed to Low Idle.Test Procedure
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position, stopping the engine.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position without starting the engine. Move all control levers through all positions to release any pressure in the hydraulic system.
Pump the brake pedal several times to release the pressure in the brake system.
Locate the oil sampling port on the hydraulic oil filter either from the underside of the machine or by removing the cab floor access plate.

Purge the fluid sampling valve. Insert an 8T-9208 Probe Assembly into the fluid sampling valve.Note: Use approximately 150 mm (6 inch) length of tube on the end of the probe.Reference: Refer to Special Publication, PEHP6001, "How To Take A Good Oil Sample" for more information about obtaining an oil sample.
Start the engine and allow the engine to run at low idle.Note: Do not operate the hydraulic controls.
Draw a 50 mL oil sample through the fluid sampling valve. The level of contaminants must be lower than the values in the specifications table.
