Engine Start Switch
OFF (1) - Insert and remove the engine start switch key from the OFF position only. Turn the engine start switch key to the OFF position before trying to restart the engine. Turn the engine start switch key to the OFF position to stop the engine. ON (2) - Turn the engine start switch key to the ON position to activate all circuits. The key returns to the ON position when released from the START position. START (3) - Turn the engine start switch key to the START position to crank the engine. Release the key as soon as the engine starts. If the engine does not start, return the key to OFF before returning it to START.For details, refer to Engine Starting in the Operation Section of this manual.Starting Aid
1. Turn engine start key (1) to the on position.2. Push switch (2) forward to the PREHEAT position to activate the induction manifoldheater with the engine start switch key in the ON position.3. Turn engine start key (1) to START to crank the engine while applying heat. Heat will only be applied while the engine is cranking or running.4. Realease engine start key switch (1) when the engine starts. Release heat when the engine runs smooth. Reduce engine speed to LOW idle to continue warm up.Warning Categories
The indicators provide three warning categories. The first category requires only operator awareness. The second warning category needs operator response. The third warning category requires immediate shutdown of the machine systems.Warning Category 1
In this category, the indicator is activated. It requires that the operator is aware that a machine system needs attention. Alternator (1) - This indicates a malfunction in the electrical charging system. If the indicator does not go off shortly after the engine is started or if the indicator comes on while the engine is running, the machine can be operated until repairs can be made. However, if the electrical accessories are used, the batteries will discharge rapidly. Parking Brake (2) - This indicates the parking brake is applied. It will remain on if the parking brake knob is pulled up when the propel control lever is not in the STOP position. The propel control lever must be in the STOP position before the parking brake can be released and the machine is allowed to propel.Warning Category 2
There are no category 2 warnings.Warning Category 3
If the charge pressure indicator (1), engine coolant temperature indicator (2), hydraulic oil temperature indicator (3) or engine oil pressure (4) are activated, the horn will sound to alert the operator to take corrective action. Charge Pressure (1) - Indicates LOW charge pressure usually caused by a dirty oil filter or a bad charge pump. If the indicator comes on, pull to a convenient stop, check the hydraulic oil filter and inspect the bypass indicator on the filter base. If it is in the red zone, refer to page 65. Do not operate the machine until the hydraulic oil filter has been checked. If
