Personal injury or death can result from a falling hopper. Make sure the hopper support bar is in place whenever work is being performed under the hopper.
Use the following procedure to remove either the right or left propel motor.
When bolts (5) are removed, the brake assembly (4) will no longer be secured to propel motor (2). To avoid possible personal injury, properly secure propel motor (2) and brake assembly (4) with a nylon strap to insure sufficient support for both assemblies.
1. Thoroughly clean around all hose connections. Mark for identification and location purposes and disconnect four hydraulic oil lines (1) from the propel motor (2).2. Mark for identification and location purposes and disconnect one hydraulic line (3) from brake assembly. 3. Fasten a nylon strap to propel motor (2) and brake assembly (4) and support with a hoist.
Do not allow propel motor (2) and brake assembly (4) to come apart as they are being removed. With bolts (5) removed, the assembly may separate and fall, possibly resulting in personal injury.
4. Remove two bolts (5). Remove propel motor (2) and brake assembly (4) as a unit.5. Position propel motor (2) and brake assembly (4) on the floor. Remove the support straps and hoist.6. Separate propel motor (2) and brake assembly (4). Use the following steps to install the propel motor:7. Reposition propel motor (2) with brake assembly (4) and support the assembly with a hoist and straps.
Do not allow propel motor (2) and brake assembly (4) to come apart as they are being raised and moved into position. If the assembly separates it can fall, possibly resulting in personal injury.
8. Position propel motor (2) and brake assembly (4) as a unit onto the planetary drive. Install two bolts (5).9. Reverse the steps and procedures 1 through 3 to complete the installation of the propel motor (2) and brake assembly (4).Disassemble & Assemble Propel Motor

Start By:A. Remove Propel Motor1. Thoroughly clean the outside of the motor. Place identification marks on the motor parts to insure proper assembly. Bolts (3) not visible in this photo.2. Remove retaining ring (1) from housing (2).
Use extra care not to damage the highly finished surface of the end cap and the connector plate during the disassembly and assembly of the propel motor.
3. Clamp the shaft in a soft jaw vise with the motor housing up. Remove six bolts (3). Using a plastic mallet, tap on the bolt hole lugs and rotate the housing either direction. Then tap on the underside of the lugs and remove back plate assembly (4). 4. Remove O-ring seal (6).5. If necessary, remove needle bearing (5) from back plate assembly (4). Thrust races (7) and (11) and thrust bearing (8) may remain in back plate (4) during disassembly.6. Remove thrust race (7), thrust bearing (8) and thrust race (11).7. Remove the propel motor assembly from
