Raise the screed and allow the tow arms to rest on two arm supports (1).

Press extend switch (2). Move the extender out to full extension. Test Procedure
Note: Before starting this procedure read and understand the instructions in Special Instruction, REHS9161, "Procedure to Properly Connect and Disconnect the High Voltage Connectors on "F" Series Pavers".
Use the ground fault diagnostic screens in order to locate the zone of the ground fault. Refer to Troubleshooting for the proper procedures.
Shut off the engine.

Locate junction box (3) for the zone with the ground fault indication.

Cut lock wire (4) and disconnect heater element harness (5) from junction box (3).

Use safe rundown procedure. The voltage on the "Ground Fault Test - Manual" screen must be below 5 V. Note: The starting voltage for the ground fault test is 44 V.

Make sure that there are no red lights (7) on inverter (6).

Connect Tool (A) to pin "A" (9) and pin "B" (8) in heater element harness (5). Note: Pin "C" (8) is the ground pin and is longer than the other two pins.
Use Tool (A) to measure the resistance of the front heater element. The resistance for the front heater element should be 143.6 to 167.2 ohms. If the resistance of the front heater element is out of specifications.
Use Tool (A) to measure the resistance of the rear heater element. The resistance for the rear heater element should be 76.9 to 89.6 ohms. If the resistance of the rear heater element is out of specifications.
Remove Tool (A) from the heater element connector.

Connect Tool (B) to pin "A" (9) and pin "C" (6) in heater element harness (5). Note: Pin "C" (8) is the ground pin and is longer than the other two pins.
Set Tool (B) to 1000 V.
Use Tool (B) to measure the insulation leakage of the heater element. The resistance should be greater than five gigaohms at room temperature. If the resistance is greater than five megaohms, the heater element is good. If the resistance is less than five megaohms, replace the heater element. Run ground fault diagnostic.
Connect Tool (B) to pin "B" (10) and pin "C" (8) in heater element harness (5). Note: Pin "C" (8) is the ground pin and is longer than the other two pins.
Set Tool (B) to 1000 V.
Use Tool (B) to measure the insulation leakage of the heater element. The resistance should be greater than five megaohms at room temperature. If the resistance is greater than five megaohms, the heater element is good. Go to Step 17. If the resistance is less than five megaohms, replace the heater element. Run ground fault diagnostic.
Repeat Step 4 through Step 16 on the other heater element in this zone.
