Drum Motor
Illustration 1 g03816215
Left Side of Machine (1) Drum motor (2) Port "L2" (3) Port "B" (4) Port "A" (5) Brake inlet lineDrum motor (1) is located on the left side of the drum. The drum motor drives the drum through a planetary gear reducer. The planetary gear reducer contains an integral parking brake.Drum motor (1) is an axial-piston motor with variable displacement. During forward operation, the motor receives supply oil from the drum rotating group at forward port "A" (4). The motor returns low-pressure oil through reverse port "B" (3). During reverse operation, pump supply oil is delivered to port "B" of the motor. Return oil flows out of port "A" of the motor.Drum motor (1) contains a flushing valve. The flushing valve spool directs oil from the low-pressure side of the drum propel loop to the flushing relief valve. When the pressure in the low-pressure side of the propel loop is greater than the setting of the valve, the flushing relief valve opens. When the flushing relief valve opens, low-pressure oil from the drum propulsion loop flows through an orifice and into the drum motor case drain. The parking brake is spring applied and hydraulically released. The brake inlet line (5) on the drum final drive provides charge oil to release the parking brake.Drum motor (1) case drain port is located at port "L2" (2). Case drain oil from this port is sent directly to the oil cooler.Axle Motor

Right Side of Machine (1) Axle motor (2) Port "L1" (3) Port "B" (4) Port "A"Axle motor (1) is located under the machine, on the back side of the axle.Axle motor (1) is a piston-type motor with fixed displacement. During forward operation, this motor receives supply oil from the axle rotating group at forward port "A" (4). The motor returns low-pressure oil through reverse port "B" (3). During reverse operation, pump supply oil is directed into port "B" of the motor. Axle motor (1) contains a flushing valve. The flushing valve spool directs oil from the low-pressure side of the axle propel loop to the flushing relief valve. When the pressure in the low-pressure side of the propel loop is greater than the setting of the valve, the flushing relief valve opens. When the flushing relief valve opens, low-pressure oil from the axle propulsion loop flows through an orifice and into the axle motor case drain.Axle motor (1) case drain port is located at port "L1" (2). Case drain oil from this port is sent directly to the oil cooler.
