Position the machine on level ground.
Confirm that the warning light for low oil level is illuminated.
If the warning light for low oil level is not illuminated, the 213-0677 Liquid Level Switch is functioning correctly. Check and make sure that the oil level is within the specified range. Add oil if the level is approaching the oil level low mark.
If the warning light for low oil level is illuminated, check and make sure that the oil level is within the specified range. If the oil level is within the specified range, use the following information in order to check the 213-0677 Liquid Level Switch .
Disassemble the electrical connector for the 213-0677 Liquid Level Switch and the vehicle wiring harness. Assemble the connector on the 190-0167 Test Harness As and the connector on the switch. A simple harness can be created from a common DT connector and used in place of the 190-0167 Test Harness As .
Use a continuity tester. Check the switch continuity.
If the switch continuity exists, proceed to Step 5.
If the switch continuity does not exist and the oil level is within the specified range, replace the former switch with a new 213-0677 Liquid Level Switch .
Check the vehicle wiring harness. Disassemble the electrical connector for the 213-0677 Liquid Level Switch and the vehicle wiring harness. Assemble the 190-0158 Test Harness As and the connector on the vehicle wiring harness. Confirm that the warning light for low oil level is illuminated.
If the warning light for low oil level is illuminated, the vehicle wiring harness has failed. Replace the former vehicle wiring harness with a new harness. Refer to the Service Manual that is appropriate for your machine.
If the warning light for low oil level is not illuminated, the electrical connector has failed. Clean the connector and repair the connector. Reinstall the vehicle wiring harness in the original location.
