Follow Step 2 if the fuel tank has no fuel in it.1. Use tooling (A) to hold the fuel in the fuel tank.2. Remove valve assemblies (1) and (9) from the fuel tank. 3. Install tooling (B) (not shown) from where valve assemblies (1) and (9) were removed.4. Remove tooling (A) (if used).5. Remove bracket (2) from the fuel tank.6. Remove backup alarm (3) from the fuel tank on later machines only. 7. Turn valve assembly (4) to the "OFF" position.8. Disconnect wires (5) and (6). Remove the bolt that holds clamp (7) to the fuel tank. 9. Put identification on hose assemblies (10), (11) and (12). Disconnect the hose assemblies. Put plugs in caps on the openings. 10. Disconnect ground strap (8). 11. Install tooling (C) and a hoist on the fuel tank.12. Remove six bolts (14) and washers (13) that hold the fuel tank in position.13. Use tooling (C) and a hoist to remove the fuel tank. Weight is 1545 lb. (695 kg) (empty).Install Fuel Tank
1. Use tooling (A) and a hoist to put the fuel tank in position. 2. Install six washers and bolts (1) that hold the fuel tank in position.3. Connect hose assemblies (4), (5) and (9). Follow Step 4 if the fuel tank has fuel in it.4. Use tooling (B) to hold the fuel in the fuel tank.5. Remove tooling (C) (not shown) from the fuel tank.6. Install valve assemblies (10) in the fuel tank. Make sure the valve assemblies are in the "CLOSED" position. 7. Connect ground strap (2) to the fuel tank. 8. Connect wires (3) and (6). Install the bolt that holds clamp (7) to the fuel tank.9. Turn valve assembly (8) to the "ON" position. 10. Install backup alarm (12) on later machines only.11. Install bracket (11) on the fuel tank.
