Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Fasten two lifting slings, a ratchet puller and a hoist to right hand cylinder (3), as shown. Carefully position right hand cylinder (3) on the machine. Install two plates (2). Install six bolts (1). Remove the two lifting slings, the ratchet puller and the hoist from the right hand cylinder.
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oils can cause burns.To prevent possible personal injury, release the pressure in the implement hydraulic circuit (boom, stick, bucket, and swing), travel circuits, and the hydraulic oil tank at the filler cap before any hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed.Remove the filler cap only when the engine is stopped and the filler cap is cool enough to touch.
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release" in this manual.

Remove the plug from tee (8). Install hose assemblies (9) .
Remove the plug from tee (7). Install hose assemblies (4) .
Remove the plug from connector (5). Install hose assembly (6) .

Fasten two lifting slings, a ratchet puller and a hoist to left hand cylinder (12). Carefully position left hand cylinder (12) on the machine. Install two plates (11). Install six bolts (10). Remove the lifting slings, the ratchet puller and the hoist from the left hand cylinder.

Remove the plug from connector (15). Install hose assembly (16) .
Remove the plug from connector (20). Install hose assembly (19) .
Remove the plug from tee (18). Install hose assemblies (14) .
Install handhold (13) on the machine. Install four bolts (5) that secure handhold (13) .

Start the machine. Raise the cab. Remove Tooling (A). Lower the cab. Stop the engine.
Check the hydraulic fluid level. Lubricate the pin joints on the adjustable cab riser cylinders. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct lubrication procedure.
Start the machine, and run the machine at a low idle speed. Move the control lever for the hydraulic cab riser. Extend the adjustable cab riser cylinders to the halfway point, and then retract the cylinders to the original position. Repeat this procedure for approximately ten times to remove the air from the hydraulic system.
Recheck the hydraulic fluid level.
