PROBLEM
The existing 278-2639 Fuel Pump Timing Tool has been cancelled and replaced by a new tool 338-1054 to correct several design related issues that prevented some tools from correctly timing the fuel pump on C6.6 and C4.4 engines.
ACTION REQUIRED
Remove all 278-2639 (all change levels) from dealer stock and replace them with a 338-1054 Fuel Pump Timing Tool.
When submitting the claim for Part Stock Action, use the appropriate 99Z as the serial number, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the group number, "56" as the Description Code.
SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all parts removed from dealer parts stock.
PARTS DISPOSITION
Return all parts to the address that is listed below attention: Supplier Recovery/Charlie Bates.
