Steering pilot valves leaking from the valve shaft seal area on the above listed machines. The 160-0089 Lip Type Seal and valve shaft are generally scored due to contamination.Vertical mounting of the valve without adequate protection allows contamination to enter and damage the lip seal and shaft.Solution
A protective covering has been developed as a solution for this issue. This protective covering will help reduce contamination-related damage to the shaft seal.A steering valve baffle kit will need to be installed to protect the shaft seal area.Refer to Special Instruction, REHS9641, "Field Kit for Steering Valve Baffle" for instructions and part numbers for installing the 477-7323 Pilot Valve Kit .
