Drain the final drive oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal.

Remove bolts (2) that hold planetary carrier (3) to the sprocket hub.
Loosen bolts (1) by approximately 25.4 mm (1.00 inch).
Install Tooling (C) in planetary carrier (3). Tighten Tooling (C) evenly until planetary carrier (3) is against bolts (1).

Adjust Bolts (Z) on Tooling (A) until Dimension (X) is 168.4 mm (6.63 inch) and Dimension (Y) is 201.2 mm (7.92 inch).

Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (A) onto planetary carrier (3). The weight of planetary carrier (3) is approximately 603 kg (1330 lb).
Install Tooling (D). Remove bolts (1).

Install Tooling (B) to hold the sun gear in position in planetary carrier (3).
Remove planetary carrier (3) from the final drive.Note: to disassemble planetary carrier (3), refer to the Disassembly and Assembly, "Final Drive - Disassemble".

Remove Tooling (B) and sun gear (4) from planetary carrier (3).

Remove thrust ring (9) from retainer (10).

Install Tooling (E) under the final drive hub to hold the final drive hub in position when retainer (10) is removed.
Install Tooling (F) to hold gear (11) in position when retainer (10) is removed.
Make sure Tooling (E) and (F) are in position to hold the hub and ring gear in place when retainer (10) is removed
Remove bolts (12) and retainer (10) from the final drive.

Remove thrust bearing (13) from retainer (10).

Remove twenty pins (14) from the hub.
If necessary, remove seal (15) from the hub.

Fasten a suitable lifting device to Tooling (G). Put Tooling (G) in position in gear (11), as shown.
Remove Tooling (F) from the final drive. Use Tooling (G) to remove gear (11) and hub (16) as an assembly. The weight of the gear and hub is approximately 286 kg (630 lb).

Fasten a suitable lifting device and Tooling (H) to hub (16). Remove ring (17) and remove the hub from gear (11). The weight of the hub is approximately 84 kg (185 lb).
