Cut a strip of metal (K) to fit between the sideplates. The grade of this metal should be "St. 52-3". Refer to illustration 18 and table 10.

Place the edge (A) into position. Refer to illustrations 19 and 20. Refer to table 11 for the correct dimensions.

Tack weld the edge (A) to plate (D), side plates (B), and the strip of metal (K) .
Check the dimensions (Uu), (X), and (Y) of the edge. Refer to table 11. Refer to illustrations 19 and 20.

Weld the metal strip (K) to the bars (C), plates (D), and side plates (B). Refer to illustration 21. Refer to table 12.

Weld the edge (A) to the side plate (B) and to the metal strip (K). Refer to illustration 21. Refer to table 12.Note: The temperature of the bottom of the edge must not exceed 450 °C (842 °F) during welding.
Allow the welds to cool until the ambient temperature is reached.
Remove the metal strips (H) from both sides of the shells.
Remove the metal strips (G) that are tack welded to the inside of the shells.
Clean the grapple.
Paint the parts that need to be painted.
Install the cutting edge (E) onto the grapple. Refer to Service Manual, "Cutting Edge - Remove and Install".Torque Specifications
