Information:
Test Stand Operation
1. Make sure the wheel and shaft assembly (1) turns freely and does not make contact with the turbocharger housing.2. Use two bolts to fasten the turbocharger oil outlet to tube (3).3. Use two bolts to fasten block (4) to the turbocharger exhaust inlet.4. Fasten the cover and oil supply line (2) to the oil inlet on the turbocharger.5. Set oil temperature regulator (6) at 74°C (165°F). Let the oil heat for approximately five minutes.6. Turn switch (7) to the "ON" position. This will provide lubrication to the bearings on the shaft assembly.7. Make an adjustment to oil pressure relief valve (8) until the oil pressure is 620 to 690 kPa (90 to 100 psi).8. Connect air line (9) to block (4). Connect an air supply to air regulator (5). Set the air regulator at 590 kPa (85 psi). If necessary, use a pencil to start the rotation of the wheel and shaft assembly.9. Operate the test for five to ten minutes. Check for oil leakage and for contact between the wheel and shaft assembly and the compressor and turbine housings. If necessary, disconnect air line (9) from block (4) and remove the compressor and turbine housings. Connect air line (9) to block (4) and again check for oil leakage.
