Problem
A 6V2014 Bracket Assembly is needed to measure rack settings on 3204, 3304, 3306 Engines with the new scroll fuel system. Some of these tools may contain inaccurately machined parts. These parts could cause a rack setting error of +/- 2%. The 6V2014 Bracket Assembly is part of each of the following tool groups: 6V4095 Tool Group - Pump and Governor Reconditioning 6V4096 Tool Group - Governor Adjusting 6V6070 Tool Group - Governor Adjusting Precisely machined parts are now used in this tool. The improved parts can be installed in your tools. Rack setting measurements with the reworked tool will be accurate to +/- 0.2%.
Parts Needed
1-8T3166 Repair Kit - Bracket Assembly.
Action Required
Install an 8T3166 Repair Kit in each 6V2014 Bracket Assembly in your shops, field trucks, or in parts stocks. TEPS dealers are also included. An Instruction Form comes with the repair kit. A copy is attached. WARRANTY ALLOWANCE Submit one parts stock claim for all repair kits utilized. List parts only. Labor is only a few minutes.

Dispose of the (tool) parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling. Termination Date
July 31, 1985. Attach. (1) (Instruction Form) 6V2014 BRACKET REWORK 1. REMOVE ARM ?A! FROM CROSS SHAFT ASSEMBLY AND DISCARD 2. REMOVE CROSS SHAFT ?B! AND ARM ?C! ASSEMBLY AND DISCARD 8T3166 REPAIR KIT CONSISTS OF: ITEM QTY DESCRIPTION D 2 ARMS E 1 CROSS SHAFT F 2 #8-32 UNC-2A x .25 LONG HEX SOCKET SET SCREWS (SEE ILLUSTRATION) 3. CLEAN THE TAPPED HOLES IN CROSS SHAFT ?E! WITH 6V1541 QUICK CURE PRIMER. 4. CLEAN SET SCREWS ?F! WITH 6V1541 QUICK CURE PRIMER 5. INSTALL NEW ARM ?D! IN HOLE OF CROSS SHAFT ?E! AT 6.5MM END. BE SURE THAT THE SHOULDER OF THE ARM IS AGAINST THE FLAT ON THE CROSS SHAFT AND THAT THE FLAT ON THE ARM IS FACING THE TAPPED HOLE IN THE CROSS SHAFT. 6. PUT A DROP OF 9S3263 THREAD LOCK ON THE SET SCREW ?F! AND THREAD INTO CROSS SHAFT. TIGHTEN THE SCREW USING A 5/64 HEX WRENCH. 7. PUT THE SHAFT ASSEMBLY INTO THE BRACKET AND INSTALL THE OTHER CONTACT ARM, FOLLOWING STEPS 5 AND 6.
