Replacing the Spacers

Remove cover assembly (1). Carefully remove spring (7) that compresses the components. Spring (7) is located between the two rods (2) .
Release vertical spring (8) from the bracket.
Remove nut (10) and washer (11) from the right side of the two rods (2) .
Pull rods (2) outward to the left side. This will allow sensor (9), the two spacers (6), and bearing (5) to be removed. Pull out the rod enough to free the listed components. The new 208-2479 Spacers may be installed in place of the old 8V-2671 Spacers (4) without removing the existing spacer (3). The two 8V-2671 Spacers are replaced with one new 208-2479 Spacers on each of the two rods (2) .
Insert rods (2) by pushing the rods to the right side. Assemble the bearing, the two spacers, and the position sensor, as shown.
Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound and tighten nuts (10) to 2.25 N m (20 lb in). Install the vertical spring (8). Install spring (7) and cover (1) .
