Depth Memories from BenchmarkTo Select a Memory
In order to select a memory, perform the following procedure.
Toggle the "Memory Focus" switch to the right position.
Press the "Memory Advance" button until you get to the desired memory. The memory indicator located on the display will increment each time the "Memory Advance" button is pressed.Store a Target Depth Value to Memory
When you use the "Depth Adjust" switch, the switch changes the information that is displayed on the screen as well as the information that is stored in the corresponding memory.In order to store a "Target Depth", perform the following procedure.
Press the "Memory Advance" button until you get to the desired memory.
Do one of the following:To increment the "Target Depth" value, toggle the "Depth Adjust" switch up until you reach the desired elevation. This value will be stored in the selected memory.To decrement the "Target Depth" value, toggle the "Depth Adjust" switch down until you get to the desired elevation. This value will be stored in the selected memory.Set Memory Depth Value to Zero
In order to set a Target Depth value to zero, perform the following procedure.
Press the "Memory Advance" button until you get to the desired memory.
Press and hold the "Memory Advance" button for 2 seconds.Using Touch-Point
The Touch-Point feature is often used in order to move the machine from one location to another when there is no laser catcher configured. This feature is only available after the system has been benched and requires a common touch point, such as a rock, to be accessible from both locations. This activity effectively transfers the zero (bench) depth from one working location to another, as shown in Illustration 3.

Touch-Point a DepthIn order to use Touch-Point, perform the following procedure.
Ensure that the system has been benched.
Position the bucket teeth on a common touch point (rock).
Press the "Touch-Point" button for 2 seconds. A message that is similar to Illustration 4 will appear.

The system is frozen in this state.
In order to release the machine from the frozen state, reposition the machine, then place the bucket tip on the same common touch point.
Press the "Touch-Point" button.
The Display should momentarily blink the message "Position Updated" and return to the normal Depth Mode screen.You will now be working to the same zero depth (bench) before the machine was repositioned.Using a Laser
An optional laser catcher can be added to the system.Setting up the Laser Transmitter
Before you set up the equipment consider the size, shape, and elevation of the equipment area. This will help to determine the number of laser setups that are needed. Refer to the laser transmitter's operation manual for information on the maximum area that is covered by the transmitter.Caterpillar recommends the use of a laser transmitter with the following features:
Automatic Self-Leveling Mode
600 rpm min rotational Speed
Automatic Out of Level Shutoff Mount the laser transmitter at a height that allows the laser catcher to detect
