Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.
Use throttle switch (3) in order to operate the engine in low idle.
Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.

Unhook latches (5) on each side of the machine, and open engine hood (6) .
Assemble the tooling. Connect Tool (B) to Tool (C) . Connect Tool (B) to Tool (A) .

Connect Tool (C) to pressure tap (7) on vibratory valve (8) .

Disconnect hose assembly (10) from the run of tee on vibratory valve (8) . Use Tool (D) to cap run of tee (9) . Use Tool (E) to plug the hose assembly.Note: Hose assembly (10) is the line to the fan motor.
Move engine start switch (4) to the START position. Release the switch when the engine starts.
Operate the engine at low idle for a few minutes.
Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature with Tool (G) . Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches a minimum of 50° C (122° F).
Read pressure on Tool (A) . The vibratory relief pressure should be 26200 689 kPa (3800 100 psi).
Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.
If the pressure setting is within the specified range, go to Step 20. If the pressure setting is not within the specified range, go to Step 16.

Hold adjustment screw (11) in place and loosen locknut (12) on vibratory valve (8) .
In order to increase pressure, rotate adjustment screw (11) clockwise. In order to decrease pressure, rotate adjustment screw (11) counterclockwise.Note: One quarter turn of adjustment screw (11) changes the pressure by approximately 1500 kPa (218 psi).
Hold adjustment screw (11) in place and tighten locknut (12) .
Go to Step 10 and check the vibratory relief pressure.
Remove tooling from vibratory valve (8) .
