Information:
MID 039 - Machine Control Module CID 0168 - Electrical System Voltage FMI 04 - Voltage Below NormalThis diagnostic code is associated with the system voltage of the machine. The voltage is supplied to the Machine Control Module (MCM). The FMI 04 diagnostic code indicates that the MCM has detected that the system voltage is below normal. The MCM activates this diagnostic code when the system voltage is below 24 VDC.
Illustration 1 g03369866Test Step 1. VERIFY THE MCM FUSEVerify the MCM fuse (F30) is good. Results:
The fuse is good. - Proceed to Test Step 2
The fuse is not good. - Repair: Replace the MCM fuse (F30).STOPTest Step 2. CHECK VOLTAGE AT THE MCM
The keyswitch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position.
Disconnect the connector from the MCM.
Turn the keyswitch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.
Measure the voltage on the harness side connector. Results:
The measured voltage is stable at approximately 24 V 6 V. - Proceed to Test Step 5
The measured voltage is unstable or not reading at approximately 24 V 6 V. - Proceed to Test Step 3Test Step 3. INSPECT THE GROUND CIRCUITS

(1) Ground boss
Battery negative on the MCM and the ground boss. Ohms Test should be less than 5 Ohms
Visually inspect the ground boss.
Ensure that the boss is free of paint.
Ensure that the boss is tightly fastened.
Ensure that all ground connections are secure. Results:
All connections are tight and paint free. Ohms are less than 5 Ohms - Proceed to Test Step 4.
Looseness is discovered on ground connections. - Repair: Tighten all connections to the appropriate torque.STOP
Paint discovered on the ground boss. - Repair: Remove paint from the ground boss.STOP
Ground circuit registers at greater than 5 Ohms. - Repair: There is an Open in the circuit. Repair or replace harness as needed. Reference the Autonomy cabinet schematicSTOPTest Step 4. CHECK VOLTAGE ON THE POWER CIRCUIT
The keyswitch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position.
Measure the voltage throughout the harness. Results:
The measured voltage is stable at approximately 24 V 6 V. - Proceed to Test Step 5.
The measured voltage is unstable or not reading at approximately 24 V 6 V. - Repair: Repair or replace harness as necessary.STOPTest Step 5. VERIFY PIN SEATING AND CONNECTIONS ARE GOODCheck each pin and each socket of the machine harness connectors. Ensure that the contacts are properly installed. The contacts should mate correctly when the two pieces of the connector are placed together. Results:
Pins found to be loose, missing or in need of repair. - Repair: Repair, replace, or reseat all loose, missing, or damaged pins.STOP
All pins are correct and properly seated. The diagnostic code is no longer active. - Proceed to Test Step 6.Test Step 6. RESTART SYSTEMKey cycle Autonomous Mining Truck (AMT) and verify status of event codeResults:
Diagnostic code cleared - STOP
Diagnostic code is still active but a stable power supply is being offered to the MCM. - Repair: The MCM ECM may have failed. Replace the MCM module.STOP
Diagnostic code is still active and the MCM
