Rear Seal (Two-piece Assembly)

Position (1) is 0.0 mm (0.0 inch) from the face of the rear housing. Position (1) can be used on engines that have a new crankshaft or a reconditioned crankshaft.Position (2) is 4.6 mm (0.18 inch) from the face of the rear housing. Position (2) is used when a new seal is first installed in service.Position (3) is 6.9 mm (0.27 inch) from the face of the rear housing. Position (3) is used when a new seal is installed in service and the crankshaft flange is worn in Position (2) .Rear Seal (One-piece Assembly)
The one-piece assembly has no adjustment of the position from the face of the rear housing.Note: If a wear groove on the crankshaft flange has occurred, use a 209-8228 Sleeve to renew the sealing surface when you replace the housing assembly.
