Attach a "Do Not Operate" warning tag or a similar warning tag to the start switch or to the controls before you service the equipment or before you repair the equipment. These warning tags (Special Instruction, SEHS7332) are available from your Caterpillar dealer.

Disconnect the wiring harness from the existing pump.
Mark the hoses in order to identify the hoses during the installation of the new pump.
Cut the rubber hoses next to the couplings on the pump and on the filter.
Remove the old pump. If the old pump was equipped with a filter, remove the filter.

Mount the new pump (2). Use the existing screws and the existing nuts.
Mount the filter (5) onto the pump (2). Note: Make sure that the filter is placed on the suction side of the pump. Refer to illustration 6.
Install the hose couplings (3). Use hose clamps (1) .Note: Use the hose couplings that fit your application. Two angled couplings (3) are provided. One straight coupling (4) is provided.
Install the couplings onto the pump and the filter. Check the marks on the hoses in order to verify that the hoses are installed correctly.
Connect the wiring harness to the pump.
