Introduction
This Special Instruction provides the necessary parts and information required to install the cylinder drift reduction valve to the boom cylinder line. The drift reduction valve can also be installed to the stick cylinder line for the same purpose. The installation procedure around the suction pipe area varies according to whether the drift reduction valve will be installed to the boom line only or both the boom and stick lines. It is also important to make correct reference to the serial number of the machine when the hoses and joints are connected to the suction pipe.
Machines equipped with drift reduction valves can have high pressure oil remain in hydraulic cylinder lines for long periods of time, even after all implements have been grounded.Sudden release of high pressure oil can cause injury.Follow established procedures to purge the pressure before attempting to remove or disconnect hydraulic lines.
Do not perform any procedure outlined in this publication, or order any parts until you have read and understood the information contained within.Reference: Service Manual, Parts Manual, Service Magazine, Installation Of Boom And Stick Cylinder Drift Reduction Valve, and Special Instruction, SEHS9450, Installation Of Stick Cylinder Drift Reduction Valve.E110B and E120B Parts Needed
