Information:
Reassembly as a rule, is made in reverse of disassembly.4-1 Preparation
Prepare a workbench, tools and supplies in the same way as for servicing and disassembly in 2 and 3.4-2 General Precautions
(1) Pay the same attention to the general disassembly precautions in 3.(2) Check prior to reassembly to ensure that all parts are free from metal particles or foreign matter, and that parts are free from burs or scratches. Remove any burs or scratches with an oilstone.(3) As a rule, renew O-rings and backup rings.(4) Use care when fitting O-rings and backup rings to prevent damage. (Apply a small amount of grease to make them smooth.)(5) Vaseline may be used during installation to prevent parts falling apart.(6) Tighten screws to the torques shown in 2-3 (Tightening torque). Check tightening torque by using a torque wrench.4-3 Reassembly Procedure
(1) Fit seal inserter to piston (1), then install O-rings (4) to piston (2). (2) Install backup rings (1) to piston (2). (3) Apply grease to piston (2).* Apply grease to the assembly sections of O-ring (4) and backup ring (1) like pushing into the O-ring groove to prevent backup ring (2) swell out and O-ring (4) twist that occur at cylinder (3) insertion. (4) Insert piston (2) into cylinder (3) with a plastic-faced hammer.* For insertion, align the axial cores of piston (2) and cylinder (3) to prevent damage of backup rings (1) and O-rings (4). (5) Apply grease to the dust seal (7) inner circumference, then install dust seal (7) to cylinder (3).* Apply grease to the dust seal (7) as shown below. Press fit dust seal (7) into cylinder (6) as shown in the figure. (6) Press fit dust seal (7) into cylinder (3) using a seal press fitter and plastic-faced hammer. (7) Screw fill valve (5) into cylinder (3) by tightening fill valve to the specified tightening torque with a torque wrench and socket.* Refer to 2-3 Tightening torque. (8) Adjust the full length of adjuster cylinder to 262mm (10.31494") by filling adjuster cylinder with grease using a grease gun. (9) Ensure that the full length of adjuster cylinder is 262mm (10.31494"). * If the full length of adjuster cylinder exceeds 262mm (10.31494"), readjust by loosening fill valve (5).
