Surface not truncated when using Request Surface UpdateAs shown in Illustrations 7 through 9 the surface updates in a specific way based on the type of request as follows:Request Surface Update Trim - The surface is truncated to the size requested.Request Surface Update - The surface is updated, but is not truncated.- ExampleAssume that the office sets Mapping > Surface Updates > Surface Update Size = 50m. The size of the updated area will be a square that is 100m x 100m around the machine origin. To update the whole surface (not truncated), select the Request Surface Update toolbar button (1) To update the surface on the machine, select the Request Surface Update Trim toolbar button (2). When selected, the office sends a truncated surface to the machine. The on-board software merges the updated truncated surface from the office with the current machine surface. The machine display shows the most recent surface available in the 100m x 100m square around the machine origin.Troubleshooting
No Input of Multicast Snippets
If there is no input, such as the input of multicast snippets to the machine, then the screen may not always redraw after a merge. If the surface does not update on the screen, trigger a screen redraw by zooming in.Compaction Data is Inappropriate
The merge surface function uses the most recent data for all surface types. For certain surface types, such as compaction and coverage (pass counts), the merge surface option results in minor disruption of data. For these surface types, the most recent data may not be the most appropriate data. - ExampleThe machine passes over some new ground before a surface update from the
