Managing Projects
A project encapsulates all of the information required by a machine to work in an area of the mine site. Each project has an associated bounding region that can be used to determine whether a machine should be using the files sent to the machine based on current location. The mine site operator would generally set up projects for machines, which can then be requested from the field by grading and loading machines, drills and draglines. When opening the Manage Projects screen, the site map is displayed. The site map is also visible when creating and editing a project, when in the Bounding Region screen. When a project is selected, and the Bounding Regions option is selected, the site map displays all .DXF, CAT, and .AQM files that are in the project, and displays a red box representing the bounds of the project. The bounding box updates immediately if any of the values in the bounds fields are changed.Adding Projects
Perform the following procedure:
In the "Control Center", click "Manage Projects". The Project Name table displays on the left, and the site map displays on the right of the screen.
Click "New".
In the "Project Name" field, enter a name for the Project.
From the "Files" list, select the file or files to send to the machine and drag the files over to the table on the right of the dialog.
If available, select the "Active" check box if the file is to be active on the machine.
If available, select the "Primary" check box if the file is to be the primary file on the machine. A primary design file tells the machine which file to use for calculations. Only one file of each type can be a primary file on a machine, at any one time. If the user is sending multiple files to a machine, and have all files marked as primary, the last file marked primary becomes the primary file on board. If a Grading and Loading file is marked as Active in the project, then the file is activated after sending. If a Grading and Loading file is marked as Primary in the project, then the file will be made primary after sending and activating. The layers for current elevation, ore status, and original ground coverage are updated automatically when the primary file is changed. Drill patterns are sent with the append option.
Click "Bounding Region".
To manually set the project bounds, enter the "Top", "Left", "Right", and "Bottom" coordinates for the bounding region. The bounding region displays as a red box. The bounding box updates immediately if any of the values in the bounds fields are changed.
To set the project bounds using the files added to the project, click the "Calculate from..." button. The button remains disabled until all machines have loaded onto the site map. The bounds are taken from the files that have been added to the project and are entered into the Easting and Northing coordinates fields. The bounding region displays as a red box.
