Refer to Testing and Adjustment, "Differential and Bevel Gear - Assemble" for the bearing preload procedure.
1 2 502-2455 Speed Sensor Gp Use the following procedure to tighten the speed sensor:
1. Before assembly, apply Loctite 536to the threads.
2. Hand tighten until sensor contacts tone plate, then back out one full turn plus 30 to 270 degrees to maintain (B) 2.0 0.5 mm (0.08 0.02 inch) distance between tone plate and speed sensor.
3. Tighten locknut to 25 5 N m (18 4 lb ft).
2 12 8T-4196 Bolt Before assembly, apply red Loctite 263 to the threads.
3 3 8T-4196 Bolt Torque to 30 7 N m (266 62 lb in).
4 Use the following shims as required:
8 6G-1881 Shim Thickness of one shim is 0.178 mm (0.0070 inch).
6 6G-1893 Shim Thickness of one shim is 0.127 mm (0.0050 inch).
5 1 450-9217 O-Ring Seal Lubricate lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
6 1 2H-3932 O-Ring Seal Lubricate lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
7 14 8D-4154 Bolt Torque to 359 14 N m (265 10 lb ft).
8 2 8C-3078 O-Ring Seal Lubricate lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
9 1 105-1331 Seal As Lubricate sealing lip lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
10 1 2D-9572 O-Ring Seal Lubricate lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
11 1 8J-8879 O-Ring Seal Lubricate lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
12 10 6V-8675 Bolt Before assembly, apply red Loctite 263 to the threads.
Torque to 120 20 N m (89 15 lb ft).
13 1 4F-5695 Cup Plug Before assembly, apply green Epoxy Adhesive 1838 to the outer diameter.
14 16 7D-4893 Spring Length under test force is 68.3 mm (2.69 inch).
Test force is 425.7 21.4 N (95.7 4.8 lb).
Free length after test is 75.7 mm (2.98 inch).
15 1 5H-8038 O-Ring Seal Lubricate lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
