Information:

5. Install the shaft into the body and install the ball bearing onto the shaft with a press and bearing installer. * When press-fitting the ball bearing, keep it true and square. 6. Install the collar, shims and snap ring on the shaft. * Be sure that there is no rattle in the axial direction and that the shaft rotates smoothly.* Use the same amount of shims as disassembled. (3) Reassembly of parking brake * Fit the disc to the friction holder with their non-tooth areas in alignment as shown left. (4) Reassembly of piston assembly 1. Install the retainer plate complete with piston assemblies and hold it to the shaft with screws. Tighten the screws to a torque of 0.186 to 0.212 kgf m (1.343 to 1.531 ft lb). * After tightening the screws, check to be sure that all of 7 piston assemblies smoothly rock by hand. If not, center any incorrectly-positioned piston assembly in its socket of the shaft. 2. Stake each screw at three points of its periphery. * To stake the screws, use a center punch and hammer.(5) Reassembly of cylinder block 1. Install the spring seats, spring and push rod into the cylinder block.2. Insert the piston assemblies into the bores of the cylinder block. * Insert each piston assembly straight into the bore, taking care not to scratch the sliding surfaces of the bores. If fails to slide down the cylinder block all the way, remove it and repeat again.* Check to be sure that the ball of the push rod snugly seats in the socket of the shaft after the cylinder block is installed.* Put small amount of hydraulic oil on the sliding surfaces and bores of the cylinder block after installing it. 3. Install the orifices, O-ring and pins in the body. * Tighten each orifice to a torque of 0.2 to 0.3 kgf m (1.44 to 2.17 ft lb) and stake the open end of each orifice hole at two points.(6) Reassembly of base plate 1. Drive spring pins into the valve plate assembly.2. Position the valve plate assembly on the base plate, as guided by the spring pins, and lightly tap on it with a plastic hammer until it is in close contact with the base plate. * Each spring pin must be positioned in the correct hole.* Use care so that the correct surface of the valve plate assembly mates with the base plate.* Do not give any scratch or dent marks on the sliding surfaces of the valve plate assembly. If any, replace with new one. 3. Install the O-rings, springs and pins in the base plate. 4. Place the body on its side and install the base plate to the body. * Use care not to damage the sliding surfaces of the cylinder block during this installation.5. Tighten the hexagon socket bolts to a torque of 10 to 12 kgf m (72.2 to 86.6 ft lb) to hold the base plate to the body.(7)
