Illustration 1 is an example of a "Do Not Operate" warning tag. Ensure that operations area entry procedures are followed.To follow this procedure:
Confirm the fault condition exists
Identify the conditions that may generate the fault
Eliminate faults in order of the general causeNote: In general, faults are caused by problems in the following order: physical damage, environmental damage, harness failure and component failure.Reference: Refer to the Electrical System Schematic module in the Service Manual when using this procedure.Test Step 1. CHECK SWITCH INPUTS

(1) Automation ICM
(2) AICM connector
(3) Autonomous control switch
(4) Key switch
(5) Battery disconnect switch
Move battery disconnect switch (5) to the OFF position.
Disconnect AICM connector (2) from Automation ICM (1).
Move battery disconnect switch (5) to the ON position.
Move key switch (4) to the ON position.
Move Autonomous Control Switch (3) to the ON position.
At AICM connector (2), measure the voltage between:
Pin 47 and chassis ground
Pin 50 and chassis groundExpected Result:Measure 24 V at pins 47 and 50.Results:
YES - Measured 24 V at pins 47 and 50. Proceed to Test Step 2
NO - Did not measure 24 V at pins 47 and 50.Repair: Refer to Troubleshooting, Testing, and Adjusting, "Machine Automation System Troubleshooting".STOPTest Step 2. CHECK AICM MAIN POWER SUPPLY
Measure the voltage between:
Pin 95 and chassis ground
Pin 96 and chassis groundExpected Result:Measured 24 V between Pin 95 and chassis ground. Measured 24 V between Pin 96 and chassis ground.Results:
YES - Measured 24 V between Pin 95 and chassis ground. Measured 24 V between Pin 96 and chassis ground. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO - Did not measure 24 V between Pin 95 and chassis ground. Did not measure 24 V between Pin 96 and chassis ground.Repair: Refer to Troubleshooting, Testing, and Adjusting, "Machine Automation System Power Circuit - Test"STOPTest Step 3. CHECK AICM GROUND
Move battery disconnect switch (5) to the OFF position.
Measure the resistance between Pin 97 of AICM electrical connector (2) and chassis ground. Expected Result:The resistance is less than 5 ohms between Pin 97 and chassis ground.Results:
YES - The resistance is less than 5 ohms between Pin 97 and chassis ground. Proceed to Test Step 4.
NO - The resistance is 5 ohms or greater between Pin 97 and chassis ground.Repair: Refer to Troubleshooting, Testing, and Adjusting, "Machine Automation System Power Circuit - Test"STOPTest Step 4. CHECK SIGNAL CONVERTOR GROUND
