A TRIMCOMM Network Router (TNR) is only present on a wireless IP network. This section details the method for resolving "Rover IP" addresses by using the TNR. This section assumes the following:
The TNR has been correctly set up.
The TNR is attached to the LAN.
The subnets have been added.
The user has some knowledge of IP IS issues.
The user has the appropriate security rights on the server and the clients.Software for the TNR is version 1.22 or a later version. For the functionality to operate correctly, METSmanager and the PC that it is operating on must be set up properly. The setup consists of the following:
Establishing the IP Address of the TNR
Setting the METSmanager / METScomms PC to resolve IP Addresses by using the DNS on the TNR first, before any other DNS
Setting the METScomms computer to route all of the TRIMCOMM Network Addresses that are bound by the TRIMCOMM Netmask to the TNR
Entering the IP Address of the TNR correctly in METSmanager ""Site Properties""Obtaining the IP Address of the TNR
The IP Address of the TNR that the user is trying to connect to must be obtained. An IP Number such as 155.62.168.133 can be used. An IP Name such as "caestnr.mine.com" can also be used. The name can possibly be assigned with the IP Address. Note that this is not the TRIMCOMM network domain name that was possibly assigned with the IP number. Contact the IS personnel, or the person that set up the TNR if this information is not known. If the user has the IP Name, then the IP Number can be retrieved from the HTML interface of the TNR. Navigate to the following folder: Home\ Configuration and Diagnostics \ AboutThe IP number is listed as the LAN Address.Configuring the PC to Resolve IP Addresses via the DNS of the TNR
This step is applicable to any PC that is running the METScomms.exe file or the METSmanager.exe file. This file requires that the user has the ability to select
