Start By:a. remove axles1. Remove the plug from the bottom of the tandem housing and remove the oil. 2. Remove the cover (1) and gasket from the top of the tandem housing. Remove the covers (2) and gaskets from both sides of the tandem housing. 3. Use tooling (A) to lift the side of the machine off of the ground.4. Turn the wheels until the master link is in the middle of the opening. Remove the cotter pins that hold the master links in place. 5. Use tooling (B) to push master link (3) through link bar (4). Remove tooling (B) and the master link. 6. Turn the wheels to remove drive chain (5) from the tandem housing part way. Fasten a chain and a hoist to the drive chain and remove the drive chain. The weight of the drive chain is approximately 54 kg (120 lb.).Install Drive Chains
1. Put the drive chain in position on top of the tandem housing. The weight of the drive chain is approximately 54 kg (120 lb.).2. Put the end of drive chain (1) on the wheel spindle sprocket. Turn the wheels to pull the drive chain around the wheel spindle sprocket and around the final drive sprocket. Install the master link so the end where the cotter pins are installed is toward the other chain as seen on the final drive sprocket. The master links must not be in adjacent sprocket tooth spaces on the final drive sprocket or interference can be the result. 3. Connect the two ends of the drive chain with master link (2). Push link bar (3) over the end of the master link with tooling (A). 4. Install two cotter pins (4) to hold the link bar in position.5. Install the gaskets, two side covers and the top cover on the tandem housing. 6. If the front drive chain is removed, cover (6) must be installed with plunger (5) toward the centerline of the machine.End By:a. install axles
