Locate the updated Area Isolation System (AIS) file.
Extract the contents on the AIS File to a new folder, for example "C:\Caterpillar\AIS\V3.1". Once extracted, the folder should contain the OS directory.
Open "WinCCExplorer" and select "start". Select "Programs", "SIMATIC", "WINCC", and "WinCC Explorer".
Stop the existing project by selecting "File" then "Activate". The deactivating window should appear.
Import the new AIS project, by selecting "File" then "Open". Browse to the location of the new AIS project, for example "C:\Caterpillar\AIS\V3.1". Open the OS directory and select "OS.MCP".
Select "Yes" when prompted to continue. Open the project.
Select "Start Server Locally" when using the local computer as the server.
Select "Computer" in the left-hand pane. Then double click on the server name ("SAFE"). The computer properties window should appear.
Select "Use Local Computer Name" and then select "OK".
Close "WinCC Explorer", and reopen.
Activate the project, "File" "Activate". The AIS Console window should appear.
Browse to the location of the old AIS Project: "C:\Caterpillar\AIS", and rename the folder.
Update the project "Auto Start", "File", "All Programs". Select "Simatic". "WinCC", and "Autostart". The Autostart Configuration window will appear.
Select "Deactivate".
Update the path to the new project, for example, "C:\Caterpillar\AIS\V3.1".
Select "Activate", then "OK".
Restart the AIS Console PC.
Upon log in the Updated AIS console should automatically load.
