Loosen clamp assembly (5). Remove clamp assemblies (1) and (3).
Disconnect tube assemblies (6) and remove the gaskets.
Disconnect tube assembly (4).
Remove nuts (2). Remove turbocharger (7) and the gasket. Installation Procedure

Replace the turbocharger gasket and nuts (2).
Illustration 2 g03828670
Lubricate the threads with Tooling (A). Tighten nuts (2) in a cross pattern, as shown. Tighten nuts (2) to a torque of 70 5 N m (52 4 lb ft).
Complete the following steps when installing a new turbocharger and if orientation of the housing is needed.
Illustration 3 g03691551
Loosen both clamps (8) and (9) nuts only enough to rotate the housings. Note: Excessive loosening of the housings may cause damage to the turbocharger wheel.
Position bearing housing with oil supply and drain rotated 8° 2° inboard from the engine vertical position.
Position turbine clamp (9) 45° 5° as shown in illustration 3 and tighten enough to prevent the clamp from moving.
Position the compressor housing vertically straight up.
Position compressor clamp (8) on the outboard side of the turbocharger facing downward.
Tighten compressor clamp (8) to a torque of 14 1 N m (124 9 lb in).
Tighten turbine clamp (9) to a torque of 18 N m (160 lb in). Loosen one to two turns, then re-tighten turbine clamp (8) to a torque of 14 1 N m (124 9 lb in).
