Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.
Differential and Final Drive
Note: Use a sampling gun for obtaining the oil samples.

Park the machine on level ground. Slowly move the machine until "Oil Level" mark (1) on the front right final drive is horizontal. Engage the parking brake and shut off the engine.
Wipe the area around plug (2) on the final drive. Remove the plug and the O-ring seal. Remove the plug slowly to relieve any system pressure.
Obtain an oil sample through the plug hole in the final drive.
Clean the plug and check the plug for ferrous particles that may indicate wear of the final drive and differential components.
Lubricate the O-ring seal with gear oil. Install the plug and the O-ring seal.
Start the engine.
Repeat Steps 1 through 6 to obtain oil samples from the final drives on the remaining wheels.

Wipe the area around plug on the rear axle housing. Remove the plug and the O-ring seal. Remove the plug slowly to relieve any system pressure.
Obtain an oil sample through the plug hole in the front axle housing.
Clean the plug and check the plug for ferrous particles that may indicate wear of the differential and final drive components.
Lubricate the O-ring seal with gear oil. Install the plug and the O-ring seal.
Repeat steps 8 through 11 for the center axle and the front axle.
Use S O S Oil Analysis to monitor the condition of the differential and final drive components.Hydraulic System
Park the machine on a level surface. Ensure that the parking brake is fully engaged. Lower the truck body or OEM attachment and shut off the engine.Install the steering frame lock. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock".

Operate the machine until the oil reaches operating temperature.
Park the machine on a level surface. Lower the truck body or OEM attachment and engage the parking brake.
Shut off the engine.
Install the steering frame lock. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock".Note: Before you obtain a sample of the oil, block the front frame of the machine.
Install the oil drain tube assembly to the sampling valve.
Start the engine.
Drain an oil sample from the sampling valve.
Shut off the engine.
Remove oil drain tube assembly from the sampling valve.Use S O S oil analysis to monitor the condition of the transfer gear.
