UNDERGROUND ART TRUCK,
Information:
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oils can cause burns. To prevent possible personal injury, release the pressure in the implement hydraulic circuit (boom, stick, bucket, and swing), travel circuits, and the hydraulic oil tank at the filler cap before any hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed.Remove the filler cap only when the engine is stopped and the filler cap is cool enough to touch.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before operating any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. After collecting all fluids in suitable containers, dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Purge the hydraulic system for the shear after work has been completed. If there is air in the hydraulic system under pressure, the oil can spontaneously ignite. Failure to purge the hydraulic system will result in damage to the work tool.
Slowly open the jaws of the work tool. Suspend the work tool above the ground. Refer to Illustration 2.
Slowly close the jaws.

Typical Example
This is the position of the air release valve on the shear housing (1) .
Illustration 2 g00755225
View A illustrates the air release valve in the open position. View B illustrates the air release valve in the closed position.
Once the jaws are completely closed, open the air release valve (2). Use 170-5603 Key on the stem (3) to open and close air release valve (2). Refer to Illustration 2 for opening the air release valve (2). Allow the oil to flow through air release valve (1) for approximately 30 seconds, after 30 seconds close air release valve (2). Refer to Illustration 2 for closing the air release valve (2) .
