Which Generate This Code:This fault is indicated when the control detects an incomplete electrical path. The path from the control to the relay coil is open. When this fault exists, the secondary steering system is disabled. The primary steering flow indicator flashes once per second. Connector contact 36 relates to this fault.Note: The following steps may create other indicated faults. Clear these faults when the original fault is corrected.Test Step 1. CHECK THE RELAY
Turn the start switch to the OFF position.
Remove the secondary steering relay.
On the relay, measure the resistance from terminal 85 to terminal 86.Expected Result:The resistance is approximately 480 ohms.Results:
NO - The resistance is not approximately 480 ohms.Repair: Replace the relay. Stop.
YES - The relay is ok. Proceed to test step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE HARNESS CIRCUIT
Clean the relay terminals.
Clean the socket.
Replace the relay.
Disconnect the harness connector from the control.
Measure the resistance from contact 36 to contact 39.Expected Result:The resistance should be equal to the resistance in Step 1.Results:
NO - The resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. There is an open circuit in the harness.Repair: Repair the harness or replace the harness. Stop.
YES - The resistance is equal to the resistance in Step 1. The problem is not found. Proceed to step 3.Test Step 3. CHECK IF THE FAULT REMAINS
Inspect the connector. Reconnect the harness connector.
Turn the key start switch to ON.
Enter the service mode.
Check if the original fault is active.Results:
YES - The fault has not been corrected. Repair: Perform the previous steps. If the cause of the fault is not found, replace the control. Stop.
NO - The fault has been corrected. The fault was probably caused by a poor electrical connection. Resume normal machine operation. Stop.
Turn the start switch to the OFF position.
