Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the turbochargers, if necessary. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Type 1

Remove exhaust coupling (1) from exhaust elbow (2). Remove sealing rings (3) from the exhaust coupling.
Remove elbows (5) and (9).
Remove bolts (8). Remove exhaust elbow (2).
Remove bolts (6). Remove support (7).
If necessary, remove pipe plug (4) from exhaust elbow (2).
Repeat the same process for the rear exhaust elbow. Type 2

Remove clamps (10), bolts (12), and exhaust elbows (11).
Remove exhaust couplings (14) from exhaust elbow (13). Remove the sealing rings from exhaust couplings (14).
Remove bolts (18) and exhaust elbow (13).
Remove bolts (17) and support (16).
If necessary, remove pipe plugs (15) from exhaust elbow (13). Installation Procedure

Position support (7) and install bolts (6).
Position exhaust elbow (2) and install bolts (8).
Install elbows (5) and (9).
If necessary, apply Tooling (A) to pipe plugs (4) and install the pipe plugs.
Install sealing rings (3) on exhaust coupling (1). Install the exhaust coupling in exhaust elbow (2).
Repeat the same process for the rear exhaust elbow. Type 2

If necessary, apply Tooling (A) to pipe plugs (15) and install pipe plugs (15) in exhaust elbow (13).
Install support (16) and bolts (17).
Install exhaust elbow (13) and bolts (18).
Install the sealing rings on exhaust couplings (14). Install exhaust couplings (14) in exhaust elbow (13).
Install exhaust elbows (11), bolts (12), and clamps (10). Tighten clamps (10) to a torque of 9.5 1.0 N m (85 9 lb in). Lightly tap clamps (10) around the circumference. Tighten clamps (10) again to a torque of 9.5 1.0 N m (85 9 lb in). End By:
Install the turbochargers, if necessary. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Install".
