Information:

Pressurized system: Hot coolant can cause serious burn. To open cap, stop engine, wait until radiator is cool. Then loosen cap slowly to relieve the pressure.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Mixing ELC with other products that do not meet Caterpillar EC-1 specifications reduces the effectiveness of the coolant and shortens coolant service life. Use only Caterpillar products or commercial products that have passed the Caterpillar EC-1 specification for pre-mixed or concentrate coolants. Use only Caterpillar Extender with Caterpillar ELC.Failure to follow these recommendations can result in shortened cooling system component life.
When a Caterpillar Extended Life Coolant (ELC) is used, an Extender must be added to the cooling system.Use a 8T-5296 Coolant Test Kit to check the concentration of the coolant.Reference: For additional information about the addition of Extender, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU6250, "Caterpillar Machine Fluids Recommendations" or consult your Caterpillar dealer.

The cooling system pressure cap is located under the engine hood at the rear of the machine.
Slowly loosen the cooling system pressure cap in order to relieve any system pressure. Remove the cooling system pressure cap.
If necessary, drain enough coolant from the radiator in order to allow the addition of the Extender to the cooling system. The cooling system drain valve is located on the lower left side of the radiator.
Add 0.95 L (32 fl oz) of Extender to the cooling system.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)" for the correct amount.
Check the coolant level.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Level - Check" for the correct procedure.
Install the cooling system pressure cap.
