When this is done, adjust the brace arms to give a clearance of 12 to 18 mm (.5 to .75") between the end of the tube and the C-frame as shown. This is necessary because there is pin movement during angling and tilting of the blade. When the blade is angled with the tube installed on the pin, interference will occur between the outside of the tube and the larger lower ear on the blade bracket to which the pin is fastened. This is prevented by cutting off the large ear until it is about the same size as the upper ear. See Illustration 2. Grind the ear smooth after trimming.
Illustration 2. Modification to the large ear on the blade bracket. For a period of time, the 6Y2077 Tube was installed at the factory and by dealers before the interference problem was known. The bracket ear on these bulldozers can be trimmed if interference occurs.
