Location of parts needed to install both new cables on earlier D11N Tractors.The new parts are required to install the new cables because these cables are smaller in diameter than the former cables. The cable housing and its parts, and the rod ends, are direct replacements for the former parts. See illustration. Two, new rod ends with locknuts are required at the transmission as shown, and inside the console housing as shown by View J-J.
The holes in the bottom of the former console housing are too large for the new cables. Therefore, install one spacer in each hole with a washer above and below each spacer as shown. This eliminates the need for the new console housing on earlier tractors.
If all new parts are installed on an earlier tractor, do the following to facilitate adjustment and correct operation.
...At the transmission end of the new cables, install one new locknut 14 mm (.6") from threaded end of directional shift cable. Also, install one new locknut 19 mm (.8") from threaded end of speed shift cable. Screw each new rod end on the cables up to each locknut, and lock in place with new locknuts.
This adjustment is difficult after connected to the control.
...The threads on the new cables where they go through the console housing (see illustration) must be the same distance above and below the console housing.
...Two, new rod ends are also needed at the console lever. Screw both these ends on the new cables until they bottom out on the cable ends. Then lock in place with new locknuts.
