Information:

start by:a) remove starting motorb) remove fuel injection lines1. Turn the fuel supply valves to the "OFF" position. Remove the turbocharger oil supply and return lines.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE2. Disconnect governor rod (1) from the lever.3. Remove fuel line (3).4. Remove crankcase breather tube (2). 5. Install tool (A) into the flywheel housing.6. Remove plug (4) from the flywheel housing and install tool (B) in its place.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE7. Remove timing pin (6). Remove bolt (5). Put timing pin (6) in hole from where bolt (5) was removed.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE8. Put No. 1 piston at the top center compression (TC) position with the following procedure: a) Turn the crankshaft clockwise (as seen from the front of the engine) until tool (B) can be installed through the timing hole in the flywheel housing and into the hole in the flywheel. The timing pin must fall into the groove (slot) of the fuel injection pump camshaft. Never turn the crankshaft backward to install the bolt in the flywheel.b) Disconnect the breather from the valve cover. The rocker arms can be seen through the breather hole for the No. 1 piston.c) Check to see if both rocker arms for the No. 1 piston can be moved backward and forward by hand through the breather hole. The No. 1 piston is at the top center compression position when tool (B) is installed in the flywheel and both rocker arms for No.1 piston can be moved backward and forward.d) If both rocker arms can not be moved, the No. 1 piston is not at the top center compression position. Remove the bolt from the flywheel. Turn the crankshaft clockwise (as seen from the front of the engine) one full turn (360°) and install the bolt again.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE9. Remove nuts (8) that hold cover (7).
TYPICAL EXAMPLE10. Remove drive gear with tooling (C).11. Fasten a hoist to the fuel injection pump housing for support.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE12. Disconnect tube (10) by removal of bolt and clip.13. Remove three bolts (9) that hold bracket to the engine and two bolts (14) that hold bracket to bottom of governor. Remove bracket (11).14. Remove three nuts (13) and remove the fuel injection pump housing and governor (12) from the timing gear plate.Install Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor
Make sure the timing pin is installed in the groove (slot) of the fuel injection pump camshaft. 1. Put fuel injection pump housing and governor (1) in position on the studs in the timing gear plate and install the nuts that hold the unit.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE2. Install support bracket (2) for the fuel injection pump housing with the bolts that hold it.3. Put the drive gear in position on the fuel injection pump camshaft. Install the washer and bolt that holds the gear.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE4. Install tooling (A) in the holes of the fuel injection pump drive gear. Put a torque of approximately 50 lb.ft. (70 N m)
