Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact the skin.
Do not under fill or over fill the rotor planetary reducer with oil. Either condition can cause damage to the rotor drive system. Allow enough time for oil to flow through the bearings and reach the correct level in all compartments. Allow more time for cold oil.

Raise the machine to service height and install leg locks.
Raise scissor plate (1) manually until inspection hole (2) aligns with the inspection hole on side plate (4). Use clamp (5) to lock scissor plate (1) in place.Note: Make sure that the clamp does not interfere with the rotor rotation.

Raise the left side plate until the inspection holes for the rotor drive planetary align.

Use the manual rotor turn switch that is under the machine on top of the cutter box to turn the rotor.
Turn the rotor so that level plug (2) is aligned with the inspection hole.
Remove level plug (2).
Remove drain plug (3). Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.
Attach an oil pump to the port for drain plug (3). A fitting may be required to attach the oil pump, consult your Cat dealer for additional information.
Use the oil pump to fill the rotor drive planetary until the oil reaches the bottom of the opening for level plug (2).
Install level plug (2).
Remove the pump from the port for drain plug (3), and install drain plug (3).
