Stopping the Machine
If the service brake fails, the machine can be stopped with the parking brake by manually moving lever (1) to the park position. The brake fully applies, therefore, be prepared for a sudden stop.
1. Reduce the engine speed.2. Apply the service brake to stop the machine.3. Move transmission control lever (2) to NEUTRAL. Apply parking brake (1).4. If the engine is to be stopped, set the governor control lever (3) to half speed.5. Lower the blade to the ground. Apply a slight down pressure.Stopping the Engine
Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components. Follow the stopping procedure, outlined below, to allow the engine to cool and to prevent excessive temperatures in the turbocharger centerhousing that will cause oil coking problems.
1. With the machine stopped, operate the engine at LOW IDLE for five minutes. 2. Pull the accelerator up past the detent, to stop the engine. 3. Turn the disconnect switch to OFF and remove the key.
When parking the machine, turn the disconnect switch to OFF and remove the key. Be sure the centershift lock pin is in the INDEX and RUN position.
