ENGINE AR 3458317 - Caterpillar

All measurements and observations are accomplished with the engine running.
1. Keep engine speed low until oil pressure is in NORMAL (Green) range. If oil pressure does not reach NORMAL range immediately, stop engine, investigate and correct cause.2. Operate engine with light load for 5 minutes. 3. Observe fuel pressure gauge. If indicator is in RED range, with engine warm and running under load, service the fuel filter. 4. Measure engine oil level with engine idling at normal operating temperature. 5. Observe air cleaner indicator. If RED piston is locked in visible position, service air cleaner element.
If any gauge indication is not NORMAL, stop machine. Investigate and correct cause.
The ammeter is normal when the indicator is at or on the (+) side of zero. 6. Observe gauges frequently during operation. All gauges must indicate in the NORMAL (Green) operating range.
