Connect a 6V-4144 Coupler to a 8T-0856 Pressure Gauge .
Connect the pressure gauge to test fitting with 6V-4142 Fitting (Test), 6V-4143 Coupler and a 6V-3079 Hose .
Start the engine while the parking brake is engaged. Run the engine at low idle rpm with the transmission in the NEUTRAL position.
The pressure reading on the pressure gauge should register 3450 70 kPa (500 10 psi). This is the pressure setting of the pressure reducing valve which is part of the Another Service Brake System Valve (ASBS Valve). Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Another Service Brake System Valve - Test".
Disengage the parking brake by pushing down on the parking and secondary brake control. The pressure on the gauge should register zero pressure.
Press hard on the pedal for the service brake control and hold.
The pressure on the gauge should register 3100 170 kPa (450 25 psi).
Release the pedal for the service brake control. The pressure on the gauge should register zero pressure.
Engage the parking brake by pulling up on the parking and secondary brake control. The pressure on the gauge should register 3450 70 kPa (500 10 psi).
When the test is complete, stop the engine and remove the test equipment. The service brake control valve is not adjustable. If the line pressure is not correct the service brake control valve must be replaced.
