Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Install the following components on the steering and implement pump: the O-ring seals, elbow (14), fitting (15) and fitting (8) .

Install the following components on steering and implement pump (11) : adapter (10), the O-ring seal and bolts (13) .
Install O-ring seal (12) on adapter (10) .

Install Tooling (A), as shown.

Install Tooling (B) and a nylon strap on steering and implement pump (11). Attach Tooling (A) to the nylon strap and to Tooling (B) .
Use Tooling (A) in order to tilt the pump by 90 degrees. Install adapter (10) and steering and implement pump (11) as a unit. The weight of the adapter and the steering and implement pump as a unit is approximately 100 kg (220.0 lb). Install bolts (9) that secure the adapter and the steering and implement pump.
Remove Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) .
Install elbow (7) and bolts (6) to the steering and implement pump.

Install hose assembly (5) .

Connect hose assemblies (4), (3), (2), and (1) .End By:
Fill the hydraulic tank with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities " in the Service Manual for your machine for all fluid capacities and for the proper filling procedures.
Install the counterbalance valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Counterbalance Valve - Remove" for the correct procedure.
Install the seat. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Seat - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Install the bottom guard (rear).
