preparatory steps: a) remove hitchb) remove axles1. Remove transmission oil-capacity 55 U.S. Gal. (208,2 liter).2. Remove differential oil-capacity 37 U.S. Gal. (140 liter). 3. Remove guard (2) and brace (1). 4. Disconnect parking brake cable (8) and speedometer cable (9).5. Disconnect rear universal joint (10).6. Disconnect hoses (4), (5), (7), and (11).7. Disconnect bracket (3).8. Disconnect electrical wires (6). 9. Remove front drive shaft and disconnect front universal joint.10. Disconnect hydraulic hose from under transmission. 11. Remove differential nuts (13). Do not remove transmission bolts (12). 12. Fasten hoist, tool (A), and two 5/8"-11NC forged eyebolts to transmission.13. Remove transmission and differntial as a unit-weight 3800 lbs. (1723,7 kg). Use tool (A) to turn transmsssion and differential.14. Place transmission and differential on floor and remove differential from transmission-weight 1500 lbs. (680,4 kg).Install Differential
1. Connect differential to transmission. 2. Remove differential thrust pin cover (1), and pull thrust pin (2) from axle housing. Use a 3/8"-16NC forged eyebolt.3. Install transmission and differential as a unit. Use tool (A) to turn transmission and differential.4. Connect hydraulic hose under transmission.5. Connect front universal joint and install guard.6. Connect electrical wires.7. Connect bracket to frame.8. Connect four hoses on top of transmission.9. Connect rear universal joint.10. Connect parking brake and speedometer cables.11. Install brace and drive shaft guard.12. Install thrust pin and cover. Install shims as required to give .002 .001 in. (0,05 0,025 mm) clearance between end of pin and bearing cap.13. Install differential oil.14. Install transmission oil.concluding steps: a) install axlesb) install hitch
