The key must be in position in lever assembly (18) .
Align lever (14) with the key in lever assembly (18). Install lever (14) and adapter (16) as an assembly.
Install five screws (15) in order to hold adapter (16) in place.
Install the nut in order to hold the lever in position on lever assembly (18) .
Put rod end (17) in position on lever (20). Install pin (19) and the cotter in order to hold the rod end in place.

Put the gasket in position on housing assembly (21) .
Align the pin in the lever assembly in housing assembly (21) with the slot in the lever in the transmission. Install housing assembly (21) and bolts (23) .
Connect the rod end to lever (22) .
Install the floorplate under the seat. Install the seat.
Fill the transmission and bevel gear with oil to the correct level. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual.
Adjust the transmission and the clutch control linkage after the machine has been completely assembled. Refer to Specifications.End By:
Install the drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Main Drive Shaft - Remove and Install".
Install the axles. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle - Remove and Install".

FT-1897 Adapter         1    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
Put the O-ring seals in position on the main frame case. Put O-ring seals in position on the transmission and bevel gear.

Fasten a hoist and Tool (A) to the transmission and bevel gear (1) .
Put the transmission and bevel gear in position in the main frame case. Rollers (3) must be against the stops on rails (4), as shown.
Put a two ton floor jack (2) or wood blocks in position under the rear of the transmission in order to support the transmission and bevel gear when the hoist is removed.
Remove the hoist and Tool (A) .
Install Tooling (B) on the rear of the transmission, as shown. Fasten a hoist to Tooling (B) .

Support the weight of the transmission with Tool (A) and the hoist. Remove the floor jack.
Use Tool (A) to install the transmission and bevel gear in the frame case assembly. Install bolts (5) that hold the transmission and bevel gear in place.
Remove the hoist and Tooling (B) .

Put the control linkage in position on the hydraulic control valve. Install two bolts (6) .
Put the gasket and cover (7) in position on the rear of the transmission. Install the bolts that hold the parts in place.
