(B) Vent hole Note: The water pump seals are lubricated by the coolant in the cooling system. A small amount of leakage will occur normally. Refer to illustration 1 for the position of the weep hole and the vent hole. Visually inspect the water pump for leaks. Note: If engine coolant enters the engine lubricating system, the lubricating oil and the engine oil filter must be replaced. This operation will remove any contamination that is caused by the coolant and this action will prevent any irregular oil samples.The water pump is not a serviceable item. In order to install a new water pump, refer to the Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Water Pump - Remove and Install".
